If you have a mirrorless or DSLR camera, use a PlexiCam® MAX instead of this model. The MAX is specifically built for front-heavy cameras.

Details:

The base unit measures 9.5" by 2" by .22" and the shelf is 2" x 4". Total weight of all parts is 6 ounces. A stainless steel thumb screw with a standard UNC 20 .25" threaded mount is included to mount your webcam.

I do wish the screw to attach the camera was a bit longer. I had to find another screw to use, and it doesn't secure it as well, as it is too big. Otherwise I love it.

Plexicam

Thanks for your feedback, and it is surprisingly difficult to find the right length screw that works equally well for all cameras. While the 1/4" 20 tripod mount "standard" covers two of the most important measurements (width and threads per inch), the length of the screw is not at all (or the receiving end), is definitely NOT a standard. Using a few transparent washers , to fill in the gap between the screw head and the PlexiCam shelf usually (or any washer you prefer) creates the tight fit you're looking for.

Works as advertised!

I bought this because I work from home and have video calls all day. I wanted to make eye contact at eye level rather than always looking up at the camera propped on top of my monitor. This product works really well, but I'd say a couple of weeks in I'm still getting used to the placement and seeing "around" the camera on my screen. I bought the light as well and I think it works much better than my old ring light from Amazon that was clamped to the top of the screen. All in all, the products are worth the investment, but know it will take some time to get used to.
